If you like the G.1 from GermanMade , then you will love the more functional G.2! The book case is designed with an organizer compartment for storing extra items underneath your Apple iPad 2 and iPad 3. Pretty cool, huh?

The G.2 is for the most part, an exact replica of the G.1, the only exception being that this case is slightly thicker because it includes an organizer compartment. There is a cutout each for a small pad of paper, pens, cell phone (specifically designed for the iPhone 4), earphones, and anything else you cram into it.

I am well familiar with similar cases from DODOCase and Portenzo, and the G.1 is a 1/2 inch larger all around, just as lightweight, and has special design features that those others do not. For instance rather than glue, GermanMade strengthens the rubber corners into the frame with screws for more durability. They have also formed a slot in the bottom left corner of the frame for standing your device in portrait and landscape viewing formats. The only drawback is the case needs to lay wide-open flat for use and thus eats up a lot of space. Although not the most ideal angle, the cover can be folded back for typing work modes. Rather than a table, I found it was most comfortable to type while resting in my lap.

The frame is cut to provide clear access and use of all buttons, input/output ports and speaker grill. The only issue here is no cutout for rear-facing camera. The G.2 for iPad 2/iPad 3 includes a sleep/wake magnet. It's not exactly disguised very well underneath the linen cover lining. The icing on the cake is a nice engraved GermanMade logo on the binding, so this case will never get lost amongst your collection of books.
